Título: Proxies for surface solar radiation from the late 19th century in the Iberian Peninsula

Orador: Alejandro Aparicio, Investigador no Instituto de Ciências da Terra

Resumo: Solar radiation is involved in numerous natural processes on our planet and it is of interest for current concerns such as solar energy resources and climate change. There are many surface solar radiation data series around the world from the late 1950s. However, measurements prior to that decade are scarse. In this context, some meteorological variables can shed light on the behavior of solar radiation from the late 19th century. In this seminar, some studies on meteorological variables acting as proxies for surface solar radiation from the late 19th century in the Iberian Peninsula are presented.
