Presently, there is inadequate scientific knowledge, monitoring, and modelling technologies to accurately predict water and water quality-related events to help manage climate change and water security risks in Portugal and Europe. Our goal is to help address these challenges by expanding nextGen hydrological model development efforts to include models of the terrestrial component of biogeochemical cycles through flexible hypotheses-testing modelling approaches.
