They can provide vertical information about structure and composition of clouds operating at high frequencies. The analysis of this information allows us to get a better understanding of clouds in the atmosphere and their extended use in Europe in networks such as ACTRIS\/CLOUDNET provides a gloval overview on a continental scale. However, lidar products have different uncertainties associated with the algorithm used to determine them.
