This is the climate change! CO2 and CH4 are the most important GHG (not only, nitrous oxide, perfluorocarbons, etc..). Capture and geological storage of CO2 is a proven technology to assist industries and power plants in the energy transition. High amounts of CO2 could be captured and permanently stored underground. Gas storage of methane is a known technology being operated for more than 100 years. Regarding CO2 storage, the workflow for site characterization is very similar but includes the collection of new data such as geochemical and geomechanical data. Risk assessment and monitoring are other mandatories studies in geological storage of CO2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Lecturer<\/strong> \u2013 Fernanda de Mesquita Lobo Veloso<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Fernanda is a reservoir geologist at Bureau de Recherches G\u00e9ologiques et Mini\u00e8res (BRGM, the French Geological Survey). She is project coordinator for two<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">H2020 projects: PilotSTRATEGY and STRATEGY CCUS.
