Title<\/strong>\u00a0– Use of magnetic susceptibility in characterization of geological materials. Case studies<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Abstract<\/strong>\u00a0– The use of magnetic susceptibility in characterization of geological materials can be used in a wide range of applications for various reasons: (i) applicability to practically all types of materials, rocks, soils, sediments and leaves of trees; (ii) possibility of identifying the magnetic mineral and\/ or magnetic particle size; (iii) possibility of identifying the material provenance and (iv) is a low-cost technique. In this talk physical principles of this technique, magnetic mineralogy and magnetic particles and sampling and lab procedures will be given. Case studies involving environmental magnetism, geological applications and magnetism in biosphere will be presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scientific Interests<\/strong>\u00a0– Study of the emplacement of granite bodies using the measurements of \u201cAnisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility\u201d, gravimetry anomalies and macro and microstructures patterns and the Variscan granites genesis and associated mineralizations in the Iberian segment. Other interests: Structural geology, Geophysics (namely gravimetry and magnetometry) and magnetism of geological materials.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
